My Educational Technology Philosophy
"If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn."- Ignacio Estrada
- George Washington Carver
Our society is developing quickly and its progress
is linked
to Computer Technology. Therefore, to be an active participant in
this technological era, I must be able to demonstrate a vast
understanding of technology concepts,
systems, and
operations. Therefore, my philosophy as a teacher in training
is to
learn all I can about technology and to be able to transfer current
knowledge to learning of new
ones so that, I will be able to utilize
them effectively, efficiently and appropriately to help my
students
, myself and others.
I believe technology is valuable to our daily
life since we use them
everyday to communicate, develop products,
research, and share information and also
for entertainment. The
integration of technology into the curriculum and the classroom would allow
the
development of real-life skills. As a Teacher, I will facilitate and encourage this
development so
students will be successful in all aspects of their education
and their future.
The integration
of Technology will help students to learn-by-doing and by
conversing. Therefore, I will
use computers to complement my
lessons to help students extend their
learning
beyond the classroom. I believe if they are allow to connect with students from other
schools, it can help them learn about each other's culture
and geographical location, and they can
also share their work and ideas with each other. I will also utilize
the computer in all aspect of the
classroom; spreadsheets for registration, powerpoint presentations and interactive
games to help
the students learn while having fun.
Parental involvement is very important to the teaching community;
however, many schools
faces challenges to get parents to participate in school activities. I believe that the use
of
technology in the classroom will increase parent involvement and encourage communication.
Therefore, I will develop a class
web site where students and parents could go to read postings or
have discussions, ask
questions, and even find homework assignments.
It will be a great
privilege to impart knowledge and to be able to inspire and empower the
early childhood students with the ability to discovers and learn through the
integration of technology
within the classroom.
i like your philosophy Trecia-Gaye. Indeed technology is essential in the classroom
